The Clipper Race is unique in that it is a round the world race crewed by ordinary, everyday people. One of the challenges that Clipper face is conveying the scale, drama and speed of the race to potential recruits on land. Whilst traditional materials such as brochures, pop-up banners and video go some way to demonstrate this, 360° Virtual Reality can fully immerse people in a way like never before.
With the 2015-16 race just coming to a close, the focus now shifts towards recruiting for the 2017-18 and 2019-20 races. So when armed with a case of VR headsets and some fresh footage from the final two races, Clipper can now instantly put people aboard these phenomenal racing yachts in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
Following the finish of the 2015-16 race in London, there are opportunities to tour one of the race yachts and to try out the Virtual Reality experience at St Katharine Docks, London. This will be there from 1st August to 7th August 2016.
