Salad and Team England win gold at Drum DADI Awards

The data-driven website for Commonwealth Games England surpassed the likes of Nike and the EFL to claim the title of ‘Sports Website of the Year’.

The new Team England website was celebrated as “a punchy and beautifully designed responsive site” by the judges. The full shortlist of twelve included heavy hitters Nike, EFL, Leicester City FC and Beats By Dre. The site also received national and international nominations from The Lovie, BIMA and Wirehive 100 awards.

The data-driven media hub was built in record time to deliver Gold Coast followers’ two unique sets of up-to-the minute content before and during the games. Over 11 days of international sporting participation on Australia’s Gold Coast, the website attracted more than 1.9 million fans from around the world, with nearly half returning to follow the action.

Carys Edwards, Media and Communications Officer at Commonwealth Games England commented: “We are thrilled that the Team England website has been recognised by an international digital awards programme. We wanted to create a first-class online experience for fans, journalists and athletes and Salad helped us materialise that dream with an award-winning website.”
