Latte are a young company with a unique proposition: a no BS approach to PR recruitment.

The brief

As well as being highly experienced at placing candidates in sought after agency and freelance roles, Latte wanted to offer recruits a ‘brand experience’ through their application portal. With clearly defined values and a tone of voice already in place, we stepped in to translate their ‘no BS’ approach into a striking and distinctive visual identity and a bespoke website.

Our objectives were to position Latte as knowledgeable (although they’re a start-up), cool (although PR recruiters can often be resented) and personable (because they really are). The PR specialists needed a recognisable identity and a dynamic and engaging portal to help generate more applications.

Four colours: light grey, dark grey, light yellow and dark yellow make up Latte's brand.

The solution

We gave Latte’s existing brand a ‘face lift’, developing the logo lightly and fleshing out a broader colour palette which features warm greys and a signature yellow accent colour. We defined Latte’s primary and secondary typography suites and worked with their copywriter to demonstrate how advertising could look with the new identity and brand guidelines in place.

The website was designed around an intelligent search and filtering function which allows candidates to discover jobs easily, filtering by industry, specialism, salary and job title. The site’s dynamic design features subtle transitions and hover effects and reflects Latte’s playful personality by applying bright colourways and placing videos up front and centre. We also integrated an easy-to-use CMS to give the Latte team more autonomy to make changes and monitor website visitors.

The result

Latte are thrilled with their new refined identity and online application portal. The website champions the brand values through language and lifestyle photography elevates them from competitors in their field. Users are now spending over 3 minutes on the recruitment hub and the site’s conversion rate has increased to 3.2%*. Latte have seen an increase in website visitors and job applicants with over 1,000 users and 50+ job applications in the first two months since launch**.

The reaction

“Salad nailed the brief and created an identity that effortlessly communicates our ‘no BS’ attitude. I love the design of the new website – it’s clean, crisp and gives prospective clients and candidates a taste of our personality.

The new look has been a hit internally, and we’ve already started to receive applications from candidates that are perfectly suited to the roles they’ve applied for.

Salad went above and beyond to deliver this project and their team take genuine care in what they do. We’re looking forward to collaborating with Salad on more projects as we grow.”
