BackupVault chooses Salad for brand and website renovation

We're thrilled to announce our partnership with BackupVault in a bid to accelerate the success of this already thriving business.

Alongside our national and international clients, we’re always excited by opportunities to support local businesses who share our fresh sea air and big ambitions for growth.

Having been impressed by our website redesign for local family jeweller Charles Nobel, Rob Stevenson – owner of BackupVault – came to us with a challenge. The brief focused on accelerating the growth of an already thriving business by generating higher numbers of qualified website enquires, through a new design and build.

BackupVault offers UK based cloud online backup services to schools, businesses and public sector organisations around the world. The industry is highly competitive and while BackupVault is headquartered here in Dorset, the brand needed to be strong enough to compete on a national and even international scale with the likes of Mozy, Asigra and Acronis to name a few.

Having used a crowdsourcing platform to develop the logo before approaching us, our focus was to improve the design and navigation flow of the website, thus resulting in an enhanced customer experience. Indeed, while the site isn’t an eCommerce platform as such, it is the fundamental channel used by customers to access information about BackupVault services, complete enquiry forms and ultimately make a purchase decision.

However, as is very frequently the case, while the original ‘challenge’ seemed to lie solely with the website, we quickly addressed a need to enhance the brand identity in order to improve customers’ understanding and perception of the business. We needed to make an immediate impact on new visitors to the site and it was agreed that any clear communication positioning BackupVault as an established and trusted provider of B2B solutions was lacking. This was resulting in unwanted B2C enquiries and presented us with an clear starting point for improvement. And so, the work quickly evolved into a web and brand hybrid project.

“I was always looking to find a local agency partner and it was great to have a recommendation for Salad from the start. They are an extremely proactive team and highly efficient in their communications which makes my life easy. I initially felt quite sceptical about branding as my preconception was that it was only useful for the big boys, but having seen the end result I would absolutely advise other businesses to do it too! said BackupVault’s owner, Rob Stevenson.

The new website and brand identity is expected to launch in April of this year. Salad account handler Gemma Lane explains why this has been such an exciting project for the business “As a successful multi-business owner, Rob is very much driven by ROI. As an increasingly results-focused business ourselves, we’re really excited to measure the impact that a new brand and new website will have on their bottom line. We’re really proud of the project, and in particular seeing the impact of the brand evolution across a variety of critical sales & marketing channels”
