In recent years, we’ve intentionally maintained a lean team, prioritising quality and seniority over quantity. When we made the decision to expand our team for the first time in more than two years, we weren’t just filling a position – we were looking for someone who would be a key member of the team whilst also bringing fresh perspectives and new levels of expertise.

We were methodical and thoughtful in this recruitment process and we knew we’d take our time to find the right person. Given our hands-on approach to client work and projects, we were looking for someone who could seamlessly blend strategic vision with practical implementation – someone who finds equal satisfaction in developing a high-level strategy to managing the minutiae and our daily client relationships. Above all, we wanted someone who resonated with our core values of empathy, trust, and collaborative support.

I’m beyond proud of the stability of our team, with 80% of our staff having been part of our agency for over five years. This longevity has fostered an environment which has created a culture of dedication, trust, and excellence, driven not by aggressive competition but by our shared commitment to delivering outstanding results for purpose-driven organisations.

Michelle’s appointment carries special significance as she returns to Salad after previously working with us from 2017 to 2019. This prior experience means she brings not only professional expertise but also established relationships with both our team and clients, along with an intimate understanding of our methodologies. Just four weeks into her role, she’s hit the ground running and has already shown remarkable integration into operations.

The transition to employee ownership three and a half years ago has reinforced our organisational culture. As we continue to evolve, Michelle brings the perfect combination of skills and empathy – crucial qualities for exceptional client service.
